At GO GO Makers, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do—because kids have the most fun when they feel happy, secure, and heard! Every game and activity we plan is built on a strong culture of safeguarding.
We’re passionate about providing the best experience for the children in our care, and we work closely with families, organisations, and agencies to make sure every child is supported and protected. All of our staff are trained to recognise the signs that a child may be experiencing abuse, including recognising signs of harm or risks like ‘County Lines’ exploitation.
Simply put, children’s wellbeing comes first—and creating a safe, supportive space is something we all take seriously.
Our team truly is the best! Our robust safer recruitment practices ensure that all adults working with children are suitable and safe. Enhanced DBS checks are carried out for all staff and updated every 6 months.
Additional checks and ongoing training also ensure our staff are the best possible people for the role as a minimum requirement. A healthy addition of leadership, experience, imagination and FUN makes us a super-skilled team that really wants to make a difference!
At GO GO Makers, our Dedicated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Emma Canning, who is our first point of contact for all concerns – these are recorded and logged securely, in line with data protection and safeguarding policies.
Effective safeguarding requires appropriate information sharing between professionals to safeguard children – these communications are carried out in a way which is sensitive and professional at all times.
Staff are trained to listen to the children and young people at our settings, understand their concerns, and help them achieve their greatest potential – no matter what!
Our holiday club and wraparound care settings are operated in line with UK legislation and guidelines, giving you reassurance that we deliver our childcare to the highest standard.
