May Half Term Holiday Clubs 2023

May Half Term Holiday Camp - CIRCUS Theme!

Are you ever caught out by how quickly half term comes around?

If you’re anything like us, the kids will have just about settled back into the routine of school life before there’s another break. However, learning is tough on those little minds, so it’s important to shake it out during the holidays to allow some well-earned down time.

That doesn’t make it any easier on hard-working parents! With the long summer holidays ahead, it’s worth making life a little easier (and fun!) in the short term by taking advantage of our creative and fun-packed half term camps.

This May we have something for everyone

Children can benefit from a variety of activities during our spring half term camps, and with the weather improving we can’t wait to get outside and explore. We focus on activities that are fun, active, and challenging to help your child gain a wide range of new experiences.

The variety of our activities makes us truly special. So how does it work?

We group the children by age range so that they play with those that have similar abilities, and help guide them according to their development and cognition. It’s about setting the right level of challenge so that they have a sense of achievement, and progress their own skills. Our holiday clubs work so well because we take the time to nurture each child’s development and celebrate achievements. Each camp has a unique theme which brings families back to us again and again because there’s always something new to try. And this spring is no exception…

This May Half Term our theme is CIRCUS!

Roll Up! Roll Up!

Introducing… the Go Go Makers Circus Camp! We have put our snazziest home-crafted thinking hats on and come up with some activities that will help your child shine. And no, it’s not all about showing off! It’s about experiencing the challenge of circus skills, and inspiring our young minds to think BIG.

Circus Themed Arts and Crafts

We’ll be running all sorts of circus themed activities – children will be making clowns, bringing the delicate trapeze act to life, crafting elephants and making their own circus train. It’s a simple theme that has endless possibilities, and we can’t wait to bring their imaginations to life and see what the children make.

Greatest Showman Dance

Our dance workshops will be themed around the Greatest Showman and Circus themes. It’s about using the space, making yourself heard and channelling that inner performer. We love that the Greatest Showman is about tenacity – not giving up – and finding something you love. If your child isn’t keen on being centre stage however, they can always be part of the audience and enjoy the show!

Circus themed STEAM activities

We’ll be putting our minds to work with some fantastic Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics activities. These activities are a valuable way of improving problem solving skills, and putting theory into practice. We’ll be making parachutes and testing them to see if they work, designing our own mazes, and getting messy with homemade erupting volcanoes.

Circus Skills

To make sure not a moment is wasted, we also have a wide selection of circus skill games and activities to play. These will benefit the development of hand-eye coordination, and encourage children to work in a team. It’s amazing how they will rise to a challenge and really work to do their best! We’ll have a lot of fun learning to juggle together – this helps to develop hand-eye coordination, bi-manual dexterity and help concentration levels. It also offers children a real sense of achievement when they manage to juggle, even for a few seconds!

Other games and activities over the week will include:

  • Bean bag toss
  • pin the tail on the donkey
  • Limbo
  • Talent show

As the weather improves we’ll be able to spend more time outdoors. So if you’re planning on joining one of our May half term holiday clubs please bring a hat and some suncream. And a raincoat to keep the clouds away!

How do children benefit from holiday camps?

We’ll spend time indoors and outdoors throughout the day, with activities that are designed to help benefit your child’s development in a way that’s different to school. We’ve highlighted just a few of our regular activities below.

Playing sports – Sports and games help children’s physical development through improved balance and coordination, agility, and space perception. Children play at their own level and work together to help develop communication skills and teamwork.

Performance – GO GO Makers children love to perform! Each of our camps will include an opportunity to share the experience of song, dance, or theatre to help build confidence, self-esteem and encourage creativity. The possibilities are endless when you use your imagination!

Arts and Crafts – We love getting creative at our camps, because children enjoy taking home what they’ve made to show off to their families. We offer seasonally inspired makes, often working with a variety of craft materials including recycled items or natural materials. This benefits children by connecting arts and crafts with the world around us.

STEAM – The inner scientist, engineer, artist or mathematician can shine with our STEAM activities. Designed to challenge and inspire through innovation, children can get creative – learning to build structures,  carry our experiments, and improve their problem solving skills.
